Vaughn Family File

Includes 7 letters (1864 - 1873) of Private Thomas R. Vaughn, Company G, 89th Ohio Volunteer Regiment, and special orders from Major General William T. Sherman and Major General Schofield. The recipients or subjects of the letters are Theodore R. Vaughn and Thomas R. Vaughn, both in the 89th Ohio Infantry Regiment, Co. G. The letters deal with duty assignment and the fitness or desirability of either Vaughn to be reassigned. Due to a possible error in the spelling of first names, Thomas and Theodore may be the same person. The letter from Ab. F. Lepper proposes a reunion of former headquarters’ clerks.

Sometimes difficult to decipher, the letters are presented along with transcripts, allowing for easy page by page viewing.
