Artist Statement	"I don't get it"... What's there to get? This simple question of chauvinist incoherence was once directed at me when the issue of sexual allure came up in reference to the pieces in this show. He didn't understand or rather see the "subliminal enticement" I was so desperately trying to convey. Maybe it's not incoherence that prompted his apparent lack of knowledge but quite obviously his overconsumption of biased and tainted media. Or maybe like everyone else he was raised under the influence of an intoxicating drug delivering the hallucination that all women who show their breasts and loins are sexy only by that standard. In the following drawings I wish to convey my personal views on female sexuality. Each piece contains my representation of a unique vintage photograph with the intent to show what I as an artist view as being sexually alluring. The psychology behind the images is simple: the color, style as well as the mysterious blacks are all intended to evoke a personal understanding of what sexual allure is and how to define it subliminally. The first instinct of society today is to strip women as well as men of their persona in order to entice. I'm purposefully presenting another option; focus on the face and see if it is possible to receive an overall feeling of sexual allure without seeing the whole figure literally. A certain level of faith is required. All pieces are done on wood. with varying layers of watercolor, colored pencil and oil pastels. This series of drawings are limited to the female gender but in the future I would like to explore this concept with different races and with the male figure as well
