About this collection

The Ball State University African American Student organizations records provides online access to a collection of publications from a variety of African American student organizations and official university publications ranging from 1968-2014. Included within the collection are newsletters, scrapbooks, event programs, and university reports detailing the lives and activities of African American students of Ball State University.

Material available online has been selected from collections of records held at Ball State University Archives and Special Collections, including the records of the Black Student Association, the records of former director of the Ball State University Office of Multicultural Affairs Robert Foster, and a collection of administrative reports on racial and ethical minority student populations at Ball State.

In addition, materials documenting the experience of African American students at Ball State can also be found in the Ball State University Student Life Collection, the Allen Williams Ball State University Black Alumni Collection, and the Ball State University African American Alumni Oral Histories collection.
