Ammen Family File

Includes 8 letters (1835 - 1863) Brigadier General Jacob Ammen (1806 - 1894), graduate of the U. S. Military Academy and commander of the military districts of Illinois and Tennessee, among several other wartime assignments.


Ball Family File

Includes 7 letters & 1 envelope (ca. 1862 - 1865). Most of the letters were received at family members’ homes in the area of Lewisville in Franklin Township, Henry County, Indiana.


Cooper Family File

Includes 9 letters (1862 - 1887) and 1 calling card for Caleb H. Cooper (1839 - 1867), 1st Lieutenant, 9th Indiana Cavalry Regiment, Co. E.


Vaughn Family File

Includes letters (1864 - 1873) of Private Thomas R. Vaughn, Company G, 89th Ohio Volunteer Regiment, and special orders from Major General William T. Sherman and Major General Schofield.


Wickersham Family File

Safe conduct pass for Isaac and Ben Parker, and John Parker (?) to return to their homes in Indiana, authorized at Louisville by Kentucky Governor James F. Robinson (1800 – 1882) and Kentucky Secretary of State Daniel Carmichael Wickliffe (1810 – 1870). The reverse bears the name of Emma Wickersham of Rich Square, Franklin Township, Henry County.
